Context
Thai Zas was a Thai restaurant located in Madrid, Spain. I was asked to create mock-ups of a brand redesign with a professional look to encourage customer engagement, create a social media identity and merchandise opportunities.
Problem
Thai Zas didn't have a visual identity. The company was having trouble establishing itself in a very competitive market against restaurants around the neighborhood that had proper logos, menus and visual aids.
Objective
Focus on the heritage of the restaurant, add a modern identity system that looks professional and conveys high class dining.
Ideation
Learned more about the culture and the significance of certain symbols to Thailand. Establish a color theme that would stand out from the local restaurants and create signage that would catch the eyes of passing customers.
Final Design
Takeaways
Due to the pandemic, this restaurant had to close down and the rebranding process never came to fruition. On the bright side, it was great to work with a humble, family-owned restaurant and hear their story, provide them with a free design concept, and listen to their feedback to achieve a fantastic-looking rebrand.
